The conference continues the tradition of regional meetings among prosecutorial experts and provides a platform for exchanging experiences, improving communication, and strengthening practical cooperation and mutual legal assistance among the prosecutorial institutions of Western Balkan countries.

Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation regarding war crimes investigations and proceedings, including the exchange and transfer of cases and evidence between different jurisdictions. At the same time, the conference offers an opportunity to share experiences from other criminal proceedings and discuss practical approaches to overcoming common challenges in regional judicial cooperation.

The conference is organized within the framework of the "EU Support for Confidence Building in the Western Balkans" project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). One of the project’s main goals is to strengthen the rule of law and support effective regional cooperation in the prosecution of war crimes and other serious criminal offenses, while applying a human rights-based approach focused on the needs and rights of victims.
