17.04.2026. 11:16REMAND IN CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR COURT OF BIH EMPLOYEE SUSPECTED OF CORRUPTION OFFENCE
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed a motion to the Court of BiH to order remand in custody for the suspect Sead Bublin*, born in 1994. Remand in custody was proposed for the reasons prescribed in Article 132, paragraph 1, item a) of the CPC BiH, namely due to the risk of the suspect fleeing, as he was deprived of liberty while attempting to leave BiH. The suspect is charged with having, in his capacity as a clerk - specialist for the execution of criminal sanctions and records of temporarily seized objects at the Court of BiH, illegally appropriated a large amount of cash that was stored in the Depository of Seized Items of the Court of BiH, thereby committing the criminal offense of Embezzlement in Office under Article 221 of the CC BiH.
INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF SMUGGLING OF PERSONS
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an indictment against Haris Hasić*, born in 1993 in Visoko, with previous convictions, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is accused of taking over six migrants, citizens of Syria and Turkiye, who were previously smuggled from Serbia to Bosnia and Herzegovina on April 1, 2024, with the intention of transporting them to Sarajevo. In the area of the municipality of Višegrad, the accused disobeyed the order to stop given by the police patrol of PS Višegrad, and after he was caught, he got out of the vehicle to ran away but was caught. The accused is charged with illegally transporting smuggled persons with the intention of obtaining unlawful property gain, thus enabling them to stay illegally in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and thereby committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, paragraph 2 of the CC BiH.
INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF SMUGGLING OF PERSONS
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Nermin Rovčanin*, born in 1978 in Prijepolje, a citizen of BiH and Serbia. He is accused of having accepted four Pakistani citizens in the municipality of Čajniče in mid-2023, in accordance with a prior agreement with a person known to him, even though he knew that they had illegally entered the territory of BiH from Montenegro, and with the intention of transporting them to Sarajevo in a motor vehicle for a fee, in which he was discovered and prevented by a police patrol. He is accused of having transported smuggled persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of obtaining unlawful property gain, thus enabling them to stay illegally in BiH, and thereby committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of BiH.
INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF SMUGGLING OF PERSONS
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Belmin Curić*, born in 1995 in Sarajevo, a citizen of BiH. He is charged with having taken over five citizens of the Republic of Turkiye, including two minors, in the Sarajevo area on 16 April last year, with the intention of obtaining unlawful property gain. He drove these migrants, who did not meet the conditions for legally crossing the state border of BiH and the Republic of Croatia, towards the border of the Republic of Croatia, where he was stopped and prevented in the immediate vicinity of the state border at the Vinica Border Crossing Point Kamensko by BiH Border Police Unit. The accused is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, paragraphs 1 and 4 of the Criminal Code of BiH, all in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
