INDICTMENT FILED AGAINST MEVLID JAŠAREVIĆ* FOR PREVENTING AUTHORISED PERSON FROM PERFORMING OFFICIAL DUTY

The charges against the defendant are that he as a convicted person serving a prison sentence in the Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, Detention and Other Measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Istočno Sarajevo /East Sarajevo/ in connection with the terrorist attack carried out in Sarajevo in 2011, on two occasions directed verbal and physical threats to female employees of the Institute who were performing their official duties, all with the intention and the aim of preventing and hindering them from performing their official duties in connection with the measures of prohibiting any calls and written contacts while serving the sentence, which were pronounced to him several times during the year 2025.
The charges against the defendant are that he, by using force and threatening to directly use the force, tried to prevent an authorised person in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina from performing their official duty that they undertook within their powers, whereby he is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Preventing an official person in the exercise of official duty under Article 241a (1), in conjunction with Article 26 of the Criminal Code of BiH, and all in conjunction with Article 54 (2) of the same Code.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
