INDICTMENT FILED AGAINST CUSTOMS OFFICER FOR CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF CORRUPTION

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against
the customs officer of the Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH, Milan
Vukmirović*, born in 1995 in Doboj, for the criminal offence of receiving a
gift or other form of benefit under Article 217 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
It is alleged against the defendant that at the border crossing point Donji Svilaj, he as a customs officer and an official of the BiH institution demanded and received a monetary gift from citizens of Luxembourg after a long unduly detention so that he would not sanction them for a misdemeanor they did not even commit and allow them enter BiH and continue their journey.
Along with the indictment, the Court of BiH was also submitted a motion for imposing on him the measures of prohibiting the performance of the official duties of a customs officer in the ITA of BiH.
