Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Head of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivan Matešić, together with the prosecutors of the said department, in the past few days, held meetings with representatives of victims’ associations from the area of Hadžići, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Rudo, Mostar, Foča, Podrinje, Vitez, Bugojno, Vareš, Fojnica, Kiseljak, Orašje and Žepče.

The meeting parties discussed work on war crimes cases, the process of searching for missing persons, as well as other current issues in the field of processing war crimes cases.

During the visit, representatives of the associations had the opportunity to ask questions about cases of interest to them from the scope of work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

Joint cooperation is crucial so that committed war crimes do not remain unpunished, and that the suspected perpetrators are brought to justice regardless of where they are, as well as that witnesses and victims have the necessary help and support in the proceedings before the judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH maintains regular contacts and cooperation with associations of victims of war crimes from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
