PROSECUTOR ON CALL COORDINATED ACTIVITIES IN DETECTION AND PROCESSING OF MIGRANT SMUGGLERS
01.09.2022. 11:22 Prosecutor on call of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office has, during the night hours of 31 August/ 1 September in the area of Sarajevo, coordinated the activities of police officers of the Sarajevo Canton MoI and SIPA, in connection with detection and prosecution of the perpetrators of the criminal offense of migrant smuggling.
Persons deprived of their liberty are suspected of smuggling 12 illegal migrants, and during the search of the suspects, drugs and illegal weapons were found.
Given that the suspects refused police orders to stop the vehicle, and then, by fleeing the scene, caused danger to the safety of traffic and citizens in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and actively resisted police officers, all unlawful actions will be documented in detail.The seriousness of the execution of the criminal offense is taken into account as the attempt to flee and resistance to the authorized police officers, which caused multiple danger to the lives and safety of citizens and police officers, who were acting in the process of chase and arrest of the suspects, in the urban city area.
After questioning the suspects, the prosecutor on call will make a decision on further activities in the case.
