After interviewing the suspects, the prosecutor working on the case decided to file a motion to order a 30-day custody measure for all three suspects.
  • CUSTODY MOTION FOR ALL THREE CORRUPTION SUSPECTS REGARDING RECRUITMENT OF EMPLOYEES IN BIH BORDER POLICE

The Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will submit to the Court of BiH a motion to order the following suspects into custody:

1.      Rejhan Raković, born in 1980 in Bihać,

2.      Ensar Saličinović, born in 1991 in Sarajevo,

3.      Kenita Čakić, born in 1994 in Bugojno.

The mentioned suspects are under investigation for criminal offences of abuse of office or authority, accepting of gifts and other forms of benefit and illegal mediation, which relate to corruption behavior and activities during the recruitment of employees to the Border Police of BiH.

Custody was requested so that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with SIPA and other partner institutions and agencies, could continue and complete the investigation against the aforementioned suspects.

During the searches, one suspect was found to have money originating from the committed criminal offence, and also in the following period, several necessary expert analyses and other evidentiary actions are pending, due to which the suspects need to be ordered into custody so as not to obstruct the investigation and work of police bodies.

The measure of custody will be proposed for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (b) and (c), of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, i.e. due to the risk that the suspects may obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence, exert influence on witnesses or accomplices, and repeat the crime or complete started.

A motion to order custody will be submitted to the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH is continuing its intensive investigation in this case.
