INTERNATIONAL OPERATION CODENAMED "KAŠMIR" CARRIED OUT
04.04.2013. 15:22Over a hundred police officers were engaged in the international operation which involved a number of investigative measures and actions, including arrests and raids, in the aim of identifying, detecting and prosecuting individuals who are associated with the commission of criminal offenses related to smuggling of illegal immigrants from Serbia i.e. the area of Kosovo, through BH towards Croatia, Slovenia and the EU.
Raids are being carried out at 14 locations in the municipalities of Bijeljina, Zvornik, Pale and Velika Kladuša. Seventeen (17) persons were arrested and the prosecutor has filed a custody motion for two of those. All other arrested persons shall be handed over within the legal deadline to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, where they will be questioned as suspects. Following the questioning the Assigned Prosecutor shall decide whether to file a custody motion to the Court of BiH or not.
This operation is a continuation of decisive activities of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, Border Police and the Task Force to combat human trafficking, aiming to prevent and punish the perpetrators of these criminal offenses.
