THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH TAKES ALL NECESSARY ACTIVITIES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARD MARKING “A” WITHIN THE REVISED NATIONAL WAR CRIMES STRATEGY
26.05.2021. 15:41The remaining unresolved cases involving persons with the former standard marking “A” are included in the plan for priority resolution of cases of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, because of which Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadić issued a Mandatory Instruction on compliance with the objectives and measures set by the Revised National War Crimes Strategy.
Until the establishment of the Supervisory Body, which will be able to request information and data from all prosecutor’s offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the implementation of the envisaged measures and priorities, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will continue submitting reports on its activities regarding the cases and persons with the standard marking “A” to the Standing Committee.
We note that prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH have so far filed indictments against more than 900 persons indicted for war crimes and grave violations of international humanitarian law, as well as in cases forwarded from the ICTY, and that more than 3,200 years in prison have been handed down to date, which demonstrates the commitment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in the fight to punish war crimes committed throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
