The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an indictment against Mihai Kristian Salagean *, born in 1988, a citizen of Romania. He is suspected with having, on 2 September this year, approached the Gradiška border crossing at the entrance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the intention of transferring the narcotic drugs heroin and cocaine across the interstate border. He kept the amount of almost a kilogram (987.90 grams) of heroin and 27.01 grams of cocaine, as well as an additional mixture for increasing the mass of narcotic drugs, hidden in the vehicle he was driving. He was prevented in his intention by police officers, who found and confiscated the narcotic drugs. The person is charged with having committed the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST 15 PERSONS FOR ORGANIZED SMUGGLING OF MORE THAN 600 ILLEGAL MIGRANTS
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an indictment against a total of 15 persons, including:
1. Selim Delić* aka "Selko", born in 1997 in Bihać, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
2. Amel Mušinbegović* aka "Ćelo", born in 1981 in Visoko, citizen of BiH,
3. Dženeta Hadžiosmanović*, born in 1999 in Sarajevo, citizen of BiH,
4. Elvir Kaplan*, born in 1972 in Visoko, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
5. Tarik Halilović*, born in 1988 in Visoko, citizen of BiH,
6. Eldin Šehagić*, born in 1999 in Zenica, citizen of BiH,
7. Anes Šečerović*, born in 1989 in Visoko, citizen of BiH,
8. Rasim Ganić*, born in 1986 in Visoko, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
9. Nihad Nizić*, born in 1983 in Sarajevo, citizen of BiH,
10. Aner Konjo*, born in 1985 in Sarajevo, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
11. Ermin Bajrić* aka "Cera", born in 1988 in Sarajevo, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
12. Sanela Delić*, born in 1999 in Velika Kladuša, citizen of BiH,
13. Rasim Samardžić*, born in 1952 in Cazin, citizen of BiH,
14. Redžo Delić*, born in 1987 in Bihać, citizen of BiH, and
15. Zuhdija Nadarević*, born in 1970 in Cazin, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused are charged with having become members of an organized criminal group for smuggling of persons, which operated in the territory of BiH and the Republic of Croatia, in the period from 2023 to April 2024. They have, on several occasions, participated in the organized smuggling of at least 600 illegal migrants, including minors, who were smuggled from the territory of BiH to the territory of the Republic of Croatia and further towards EU countries, for agreed amounts of money, outside border crossings.
They are accused of having committed the criminal offence of organizing a group or association to commit the criminal offence of smuggling migrants under Article 189a of the Criminal Code of BiH and the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
CUSTODY MOTION FOR PERSON SUSPECTED OF SMUGGLING PERSONS
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed a custody motion to the Court of BiH for the suspect Yevhenii Haidai*, born in 2001, a citizen of Ukraine. The measure of custody was proposed for the reasons described in Article 132, paragraph 1, item a), namely due to the risk of flight of the suspect, who is a foreign citizen. He is charged with having, with the intention of acquiring unlawful material gain, accepted seven (7) Turkish citizens, including five minors, at a precise location thereby committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, paragraph 4, of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
