INDICTMENT FILED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF HUMAN SMUGGLING

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Almedin Šećerović* aka “Hole”, born in 1998 in Zenica, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is alleged against him that on 26 August 2023, in the area of Čajniče, he received five migrants, citizens of Pakistan, who illegally entered Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Republic of Montenegro with the intention of transporting them to Sarajevo, in which he was discovered and prevented by members of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The defendant is charged with having facilitated the illegal transportation and stay of smuggled persons in BiH with the intention of acquiring illicit property gain, whereby he committing the criminal offence of Smuggling of persons set out in Article 189 (2) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

INDICTMENT FILED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF HUMAN SMUGGLING

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against Adnan Šrndić* aka “Ado”, born in 1995 in Visoko, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is alleged against him that on 4 August 2024, with the intention of acquiring illicit property gain, he received and illegally transported migrant women, citizens of India, who did not meet the conditions for legal crossing of the border, by boat across the river Drina from the territory of Serbia to the territory of BiH, whereby he committed the criminal offence of Smuggling of persons set out in Article 189 (1) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

INDICTMENT FILED FOR PREVENTING SIPA OFFICERS FROM PERFORMING THEIR OFFICIAL DUTIES

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Mugdi Omanović* aka “Mugda” born in 1984 in Bugojno. The allegations against him are that on 4 February this year, in Mostar, where he was on the run from serving his prison sentence in the Busovača Penitentiary, at the time of deprivation of his liberty, in order to prevent his arrest, he threatened SIPA officers by activating a hand grenade that he held in his hand. With the intervention of the SIPA police officers, the suspect was overpowered and prevented from activating the explosive device. He is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Obstructing an official in the exercise of official duty set out in Article 241a of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with the criminal offence of Illegal possession of weapons or explosive substances set out in Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of BiH.

MOTION TO ORDER CUSTODY AND PROHIBITING MEASURES AGAINST SUSPECTS OF ORGANISED HUMAN SMUGGLING

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH submitted a motion that the suspects Jovan Savić* (2003), Saša Obradović* (2002) and Predrag Šoba* (1970) be ordered into custody, because of the custody reasons provided for in Article 132 (1) (b) and (c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH. It has also proposed that the prohibiting measures of prohibition of visiting certain places or areas and prohibition of meeting with co-suspects, which are set out Article 126a (1) (b) and (c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, be ordered against suspects Zvjezdan Đurić* (1988), Slavko Miljanović* (1987), Željko Erić* (1970), Paja Babić* (1979), Radenko Mihajlović* (1966), Goran Miljević* (1976) and Bojan Korać* (1991). The aforementioned persons are suspected of having organised the smuggling of at least 500 migrants from the Republic of Serbia to BiH with the aim of acquiring unlawful property gain. They are accused of having committed the criminal offence of organizing a group or association to commit the criminal offence of smuggling migrants set out in Article 189a of the Criminal Code of BiH in conjunction with the criminal offence of Smuggling of persons set out in Article 189 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

CUSTODY MOTION FOR FOUR PERSONS SUSPECTED OF ORGANISED CRIME

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted a motion that the suspects S.S.* (2001), M.J.* (1995), I.Z.* (2002) and S.G.* (2001), citizens of BiH, be ordered into custody. The custody was proposed for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (a), (b) and (c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH. They are accused of, among other things, acting as members of an organised crime group, growing the narcotic drug marijuana “skank”, as well as selling and international transfer of the narcotic drug. The aforementioned suspects are under investigation for the criminal offence of organised crime under Article 250 in conjunction with the criminal offence of Illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs under Article 195 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other criminal offences.
