With the support of the European Union through the EU4JUSTICE project, a four-day specialist training led by an international expert and representatives of the EU4JUSTICE project was successfully concluded in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. The training was focused on modern methods of investigating, detecting and seizing assets in the online space, including cryptocurrencies and other forms of illicit financial gain.

The specialist workshop brought together prosecutors and professional staff of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, as well as officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) working in this field.

Illicit financial gain involving cryptocurrencies has been increasingly present and recorded in cases of organised and cross-border crime. In investigations carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH based on evidence obtained from the SKY and ANOM applications, judicial measures have been taken to block such assets of significant amounts.

The specialist training focused on the familiarisation with investigative techniques, the analysis of financial flow modalities and methods of securing and seizing illicit assets.
