11.07.2025. 13:13EXHUMATION CARRIED OUT IN MOSTAR AREA
On Monday, 7 July 2025, an exhumation was carried out at the Šarića Harem site, in the Mostar area, in the course of which the remains of one person were found.
The exhumation process was led by an investigator from the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the presence of a permanent court expert and a representative of the Missing Persons Institute, respectively, whereas the location was being secured by the police officers from the Ministry of Interior of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
The remains were transported to the premises of the Public Utility Company of the Sutina City Cemeteries in Mostar, for the purpose of further forensic processing and establishing the identity of the missing person by way of the DNA analysis.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
