  • SIX PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY FOR WAR CRIMES IN JOŠANICA NEAR FOČA IN1992

The suspects are under investigation for a war crime committed in the village of Jošanica near Foča in December 1992, when 56 ethnic Serb victims, mostly civilians including women and children, were killed.

During the attack, houses and property were set on fire and destroyed.

The victims were found and identified after the crime.

The suspects are accused of having participated in the attack on the village and the commission of crimes against the population in their capacities as commanders and members of the Višegrad Brigade of the R BiH Army.

An extensive investigation was conducted in the case by the prosecution with several partner police agencies and institutions, and a large amount of evidence about the crime committed and the perpetrators was collected.

After the criminal processing, the suspects will be brought from SIPA to the assigned prosecutor, who will question the suspects and then make a decision on further activities in the case.
