SUSPECT MARKO BOŠKIĆ EXTRADITED TO BIH
(29.04.2010. 08:37)

Marko Boškić (1964), suspected of committing the criminal offence of Genocide under Article 171 of the Criminal Code of BiH, was extradited to BiH judiciary from the United States of America.

By order of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the BiH Prosecutor's Office the officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA have,  today at about 15:00 hrs at Sarajevo International Airport, apprehended Boškić Marko, born on July 9, 1964  in Tuzla, after he  was extradited from the United States.

Marko Boškić is under investigation by the BiH Prosecutor's Office and is suspected of committing the criminal offence of Genocide in Srebrenica in July 1995 as a former member of the 10th Commando Squad of the Army of Republika Srpska (ARS).

He is suspected of having, together with other members of the 10th Commando Squad of the ARS, personally participated in the shooting and killing of Bosniak men and boys captured after the fall of the protected zone of Srebrenica.

Marko Boskic was unavailable to the judicial authorities of BiH, given the fact that he emigrated to the United States, where he was prosecuted for the crime of immigration fraud, as it was established that he withheld information about his participation in the armed forces during the war from the U.S. immigration authorities.

After being prosecuted for immigration fraud, Marko Boškić was deported to Bosnia, where he was apprehended at the request of the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

The suspect will be handed over to the assigned prosecutor within the legal deadline, who will then question the suspect and decide on filing a custody motion.
