MILANKO KAJGANIĆ APPOINTED ACTING CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH

Acting Chief Prosecutor, Milanko Kajganić, has been a member of the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH since 2014 and has served as Prosecutor and Head of the Special Department for War Crimes. He was appointed Deputy Chief Prosecutor on 16 October 2019.

High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC) of BiH has, at its session on 20 October appointed the Deputy Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Milanko Kajganić, as the Acting Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Prosecutor Kajganić has been working in the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH since 2014, as Prosecutor, Deputy Chief Prosecutor and Head of the Special Department for War Crimes.

Biography of the Acting Chief Prosecutor:

Milanko  Kajganić was born in Doboj on 16 November 1975. He completed the Secondary School of Internal Affairs in Banja Luka in 1994 and graduated from the Higher School of Internal Affairs in Banja Luka in 1998.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Banja Luka in 2005 and passed his bar exam in 2008.

In the period between 16 June 1994 and 31 December 2006, he worked in the Republika Srpska (RS) Ministry of Interior performing different duties - those of a police officer, platoon commander, inspector in the Department for Combating the Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Drugs and, in the end, those of an internal control inspector.

In the period between 1 January 2007 and 15 March 2014 he was employed with the Special Prosecutor’s Office in Banja Luka.

By a decision of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council dated 6 March 2014, he was appointed Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and started working on 15 March 2014.

He is an OSCE consultant in the field of criminal law and, as an educator, he took part in several seminars organized and supported by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association of Judges of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for judges, prosecutors, lawyers and police officers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a member of the negotiating team of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the process of negotiating an Agreement between EUROJUST and Bosnia and Herzegovina and speaks English.
