BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO PUT FORWARD CUSTODY MOTION AGAINST PERSONS SUSPECTED OF SMUGGLING OF AROUND 200 KILOGRAMS OF MARIJUANA-SKUNK NARCOTIC DRUG
06.12.2018. 15:34Following the action coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which resulted in the deprivation of liberty of four suspects in the border area of Bileća and in which around 200 kilograms of marijuana-skunk narcotic drug had been found in a passenger’s motor vehicle and subsequently seized, the suspects were brought to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and handed over to the Prosecutor in charge of the respective case, who questioned them.
The Prosecutor in charge of the respective case will put forward a Motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina within the legally prescribed time limit, seeking that the measure of custody be ordered against the four suspects, because they are citizens of Montenegro and, if they left Bosnia and Herzegovina, they would become unavailable to the BiH judiciary.
The seizure of around 200 kilograms of marijuana-skunk narcotic drug is one of the largest seizures of narcotic drugs in Bosnia and Herzegovina in this year, and the value of the thus seized narcotic drug reaches the amount of more than one million BAM on the illegal narcotics market.
In the process of detecting the perpetrators of the said criminal offence and collecting evidence in this case, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina have established good and continuous cooperation.
