EXHUMATION OF VICTIMS FROM THE PAST WAR COMPLETED IN BOSANSKA KRUPA MUNICIPALITY
29.06.2017. 15:45At the location of the village of Jasenica and village of Denakovac, Majkići hamlet, in the area of Bosanska Krupa Municipality, incomplete mortal remains of at least two persons, and most probably three persons, were exhumed. The exact number of persons, as well as the identity of the victims whose mortal remains were found, will be determined in a subsequent process.
The found mortal remains were transported to the premises of the City Cemetery of Banja Luka, where further forensic processing will be performed, the cause of death will be established and bone samples will be taken for the DNA analysis.
The exhumation and work of authorized officials were coordinated by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes at the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of Una-Sana Canton participated in the process of finding and exhuming mortal remains, in which necessary workers and adequate mechanization were also employed.
Employees of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina participate in finding mortal remains and exhuming victims of war crimes throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina almost on a daily basis.
