  • CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE BORDER POLICE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

This is the first meeting of the Chief Prosecutor and the newly appointed Director of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ever since the establishment of the two respective institutions, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina have had good and intensive cooperation in prosecuting crimes of smuggling of persons, illicit international trafficking in narcotic drugs, smuggling of goods and other criminal offenses within the jurisdiction of these institutions.

At this meeting, there was discussion on the issue of forming specialized teams that would be modeled on USKOK from the Republic of Croatia and resemble the model of BiH USKOK that has already been formed between the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

These specialized operational teams will consist of the representatives from the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and they will coordinate daily their work on detection and criminal prosecution of perpetrators of organized crime and all other criminal offenses that fall within the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Good cooperation of judicial and police institutions and good results in the fight against organized and cross-border crime are an important segment in the process of European integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and this cooperation will continue in future.
