23.12.2013. 15:47
The Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed a motion to the Court of BiH to remand in custody the suspect arrested yesterday during the course of the operation aimed at detection of international drug trafficking.
  • MOTION FOR REMAND IN CUSTODY FILED FOR THE SUSPECT APPREHENDED WITHIN THE OPERATION

The motion for remand in custody was filed the suspect G.I. (1979) from Zenica, BiH citizen.

According to the evidence gathered, the suspect was acting within an organized criminal group involved in illegal international drug trade, primarily of "speed" and "skunk", with the intent of acquiring unlawful gain by way of selling narcotic drugs within the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and further in the territory of Austria and the Netherlands.

The above-mentioned suspect is charged with the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250, Paragraph 3  in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195, Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH.

The Prosecutor filed a motion for remand in custody on grounds stipulated in Article 132, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs b) and c) of the CPC BiH.

The remand in custody was requested, inter alia, due to risk that the suspect could suppress evidence, influence witnesses or accomplices in order to disable collection of evidence and hinder the investigation, and also due to reasonable doubt that, if released, the suspect could repeat the criminal offense.

Motion for remand in custody was submitted to the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH continues the investigation in this case.
