At the international conference of prosecutors from all over the world, organised by the International Organization of Prosecutors (IAP), which is being held in Singapore, the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milanko Kajganić, presented as a panelist the experiences of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and delivered a presentation on activities in the fight against human trafficking and illegal migration.
This area of crime, to which Bosnia and Herzegovina is extremely exposed as a transit country, is the focus of the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which has a special department in charge of prosecuting these crimes, and the Chief Prosecutor is also at the head of the Task Force for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings and Illegal Migration, which includes all the police and security agencies of Bosnia and Herzegovina that operate in this area.
The fight against this type of crime is extremely important and is in focus due to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s candidate status and European path. In the past few years, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed dozens of indictments in this area, which also cover members of organised criminal groups, made up of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and foreign citizens residing in our country.
Part of the presentation also referred to the discovery and documentation of evidence for these crimes, which belong to the sphere of cybercrime, as well as international cooperation in this area.
The 30th annual international conference is attended by prosecutors from dozens of countries from around the world.
