The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Fahrudin Gačanović *, born in 1979 in Sarajevo, a police officer of the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA, temporarily assigned to the BiH Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies.
The accused is charged with having, as a member of SIPA during 2020 and 2021, while using the SKY application, contacted suspects in organized crime cases, and with having requested and accepted gifts in the form of money and other forms of benefits for himself in several separate cases, in order to allegedly provide them with protection or to inform them about the work and activities of SIPA and other law enforcement agencies.
The accused is charged with having obtained proceeds of crime in the amount of at least 4,000 euros, thereby committing the criminal offense of Accepting Reward or Other Forms of Benefit for Trading in Influence under Article 219 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment also seeks to confiscate unlawful property gain, as well as to impose a ban on performance of police officer duties for a period of at least 5 years, counting from the date the judgment becomes final.
