THE ACCUSED OF COUNTERFEITING MONEY ADMITTED GUILT - SENTENCED TO ONE YEAR AND SIX MONTHS IN PRISON FOR COUNTERFEITING EURO, USD AND BAM BANKNOTES

Pursuant to the plea agreement, a prison sentence of one and a half years was proposed for the accused, as well as the confiscation of dozens of counterfeit Euro, USD and BAM currency banknotes, in various denominations.

The allegations against the above-mentioned accused are that after coming into possession of counterfeit banknotes, he attempted to place them into the payment system of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the area of Tuzla Canton, in which he did not succeed, because he was discovered by police officers, and the counterfeit money was confiscated.

The proposed sentence is in accordance with the role and responsibility of the accused, as well as the scope of the criminal offence alleged against him.

By pleading guilty, the accused waived his rights to a trial and to appeal the judgment which the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to pronounce against him based on the agreement.

If the Court of BiH accepts the agreement, the case will be completely concluded.
