INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN VLASENICA

A Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes issued an indictment against Elvis Đurić, born in 1969 in Vlasenica, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia, residing in the territory of Serbia.

INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN VLASENICA

 The accused is charged with having acted contrary to the provisions of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

He is accused of having, armed and in uniform, participated in the attacks on villages inhabited by Bosniak civilians during 1992, including the places known as Džamadžići, Alihodžići, Durakovići and other locations in the Vlasenica area, where civilians were killed, property burned and looted, and other inhuman acts committed.

 

Furthermore, the accused is charged with having personally, using cold weapon, brutally killed an Ethnic Bosniak civilian, as well as of having tortured, intimidated, illegally imprisoned civilians in the Sušica camp and having committed other inhumane acts against the civilian population.

 

The accused is charged with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the CC BiH. The prosecution will prove the indictment by calling 31 witnesses, of which 3 witnesses with assigned protective measures, two expert witnesses , as well as by attaching more than 100 material pieces of evidence. The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
