MINISTER IN THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS OF BIH DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN HIGH LEVEL CORRUPTION CASE

 Acting on the order of a prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, SIPA police officers, with the assistance of the RS MoI, carried out an operation to detain the suspect Miloš Lučić (1986), current minister in the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH.

 Along with the deprivation of liberty, searches were carried out of the office premises, the place of residence of the suspect, as well as other facilities, in order to find evidence of committed criminal offenses.

Suspect Lučić is under investigation by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and is suspected of the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Authority, in conjunction with several corrupt criminal offenses, which caused damage to BiH budget, and enabled the suspect and persons close and related to him to obtain illegal property gain.

 

During the work on the case, evidence was gathered that the suspect committed gross abuses in the area of spending funds intended for representation, illegally serviced vehicles with unauthorized persons, committed abuses during employment, as well as a number of other illegalities that are covered by the investigation.

 

A Prosecutor and an investigator of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office coordinated the activities of police authorities and determined further investigative activities to be undertaken.

 

The suspect, accompanied by SIPA, will be handed over to the assigned prosecutor, within the legal deadline, who will decide on further activities following the questioning of the suspect.
