REMAINS OF VICTIMS MISSING FROM THE PAST WAR FOUND AND EXUMED AT GORNJA CRČA-VIŠEGRAD

An investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes is out in the field in Gornja Crnča - Višegrad municipality, where, pursuant to the order of the prosecutor, he is coordinating the work of all officials participating in the process of exhumation and search for missing persons. 

REMAINS OF VICTIMS MISSING FROM THE PAST WAR FOUND AND EXUMED AT GORNJA CRČA-VIŠEGRAD

 The remains of at least two persons were found at the said location, and the search continues.

Information about the possible location of the bodies was obtained through joint activities and coordinated work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, SIPA and IMP BiH, and the area is located near the place where the remains of victims from the past war were found 4 months ago.

 

Following the exhumation, the remains will be sent to an ossuary in Goražde for further forensic-medical processing and identification through DNA analysis.

 

According to preliminary information, those are the remains of Bosniak victims from the Višegrad area, and the exact identity will be determined after DNA analysis.

 

The exhumation, which is coordinated by an investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, is attended by a forensic pathologist, a representative of the International Commission for Missing Persons (ICMP) in BiH, a representative of the Institute for Missing Persons (IMP) of BiH, the necessary workers and machinery, and the location is secured by police officers of the RS MoI, PS Višegrad.
