CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR TWO CITIZENS OF REPUBLIC OF TURKEY DUE TO SMUGGLING OF MIGRANTS

Within the activities of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in coordination with the duty Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, two citizens of the Republic of Turkey were discovered in the area of Posušje while they were attempting to smuggle eight migrants of Afro-Asian origin, and they were accordingly deprived of liberty.

CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR TWO CITIZENS OF REPUBLIC OF TURKEY DUE TO SMUGGLING OF MIGRANTS

The suspects were brought before the Prosecutor in charge of this case, who questioned them and subsequently put forward a motion to order custody pursuant to Article 132, paragraph 1, item a) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely, due to the risk of the suspects’ flight.

Judging by the evidence collected and the statements of the found illegal migrants, they came from the territories of Afghanistan and Pakistan. The migrants were handed over to the jurisdiction of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
