INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS

A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against  MIRKO LAZIĆ, born in 1970 in Šamac, citizen of BiH.

 

INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS

The accused is charged with illegally obtaining a large quantity of excise goods - tobacco, which was not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of BiH, with the intention of selling the tobacco to a person known to him.

According to the allegations from the indictment, the accused transported cut tobacco in the amount of 250 kilograms, which was packed in PVC bags, for which he did not have any necessary documentation, by a motor vehicle, and was found during control in Sibovac, Gradačac municipality, and prevented in that intention by the authorised officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH.

The accused is charged with the criminal offence of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a (1) of the Criminal Code of BiH, in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, together with partner institutions and agencies, is carrying out activities throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina to detect and prosecute persons suspected of illicit trade in tobacco and excise products in large amounts, which causes damage to the budget and all citizens of BiH.
