CHIEF PROSECUTOR PARTICIPATES IN MEETING OF OSCE OFFICIALS IN FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING

The meeting discussed the prosecution of these criminal offences, as well as the identification of elements of trafficking in human beings in migration flows.
CHIEF PROSECUTOR PARTICIPATES IN MEETING OF OSCE OFFICIALS IN FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING

 

The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, and her associates had a meeting via a video conference organised by the OSCE Mission to BiH with the OSCE officials Valiant Richey, OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, and with Margaret Cederfelt, Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Head of the Ad Hoc Commission on Migration.

 

The main topics of the meeting were the work on cases of trafficking in human beings, the situation related to the fight against trafficking in human beings in BiH, as well as challenges related to the identification and support to victims of trafficking in migration flows, and the prosecution of the criminal offences of trafficking in human beings and smuggling of persons within organised crime.

 

Chief Prosecutor Tadić presented to the OSCE officials the work and activities of the Task Force for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings and Organised Illegal Immigration, the work of the Specialised Network of Prosecutors and Investigators, as well as the statistics regarding cases in this field in which the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH acts, and thaked the OSCE Mission to BiH for organising this meeting that served as an opportunity to discuss and present the situation in this field, which is very important for the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
