DOBOJ EXHUMATION CONTINUES. THE REMAINS OF 22 VICTIMS UNEARTHED SO FAR

The exhumation process continued at the location of Usora in Doboj municipality under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.  From the beginning of the process to date complete remains of 18 and incomplete remains of 4 war crimes victims were unearthed.

The recovered remains shall be transported to PUC Town Cemetery Visoko for forensic and criminal investigation processing i.e. determination of the cause of death and collection of DNA samples in order to determine the identity of the victims.

The exhumation process is continuously coordinated by an Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and attended by the representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, representatives of the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) a doctor specializing in forensic medicine and Police Officers of PSC Doboj.

The exhumation process, supervised by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, will continue in the upcoming period.

The process of exhumation, identification and search for the missing persons is one of the priorities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH as it is repeatedly emphasized. This process is particularly important for the families of war crimes victims as they have been searching for the remains of their loved ones for two decades.
