THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE OF BIH APPEALED THE DECISION TO TERMINATE CUSTODY OF THE SUSPECT ANES SADIKOVIC (1976)

The Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH lodged an appeal with the Court of BiH against its decision to release the suspect Anes Sadiković by granting bail on real estate guaranties and imposing prohibitive measures.

The Assigned Prosecutor leading the investigation into this matter, during which a joint police operation codenamed "Boss" was carried out, believes that the suspect should be placed in custody, because it a concerns a matter that has been one of the most extensive investigations of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH into organized and financial crime related to abuses and illegal activities amounting to several tens of millions in BAM.

Given the seriousness of the case, the prosecution believes that the suspect should be kept in custody as the investigation in this case is still ongoing, that there is a risk of flight as well as the risk of possible influencing of witnesses or accomplices and of concealing evidence.

For the foregoing reasons, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH lodged an appeal with the Court of BiH asking that the decision be revoked and the suspect remanded back into custody.

Anes SADIKOVIĆ is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is suspected of committing criminal offense of Organized Crime in conjunction with the criminal offenses of Tax Evasion, Customs Fraud and Money Laundering.
