CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR PERSON SUSPECTED OF CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF TERRORISM

Having questioned the suspect, a Prosecutor of the Terrorism Section of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina put forward a Motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seeking that a measure of custody be ordered in respect of the suspect H. Č., born in 2002 in Brčko, who resides in Sarajevo.
  • CUSTODY PROPOSED FOR PERSON SUSPECTED OF CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF TERRORISM

Custody has been proposed for reasons as stipulated in Article 132, paragraph 1, item c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, due to the danger that, if at large, the suspect might repeat or complete the criminal offence.

Once relevant information was received from partner institutions from abroad, the aforementioned suspect was deprived of liberty. The suspect was identified and located in the area of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, by Investigators specializing in high-tech crime, and he was deprived of liberty in the course of activities conducted by the police officers of the Police Department of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The aforementioned person is charged with using his knowledge of information technology and posting comments via Internet, on a foreign Internet server and a messaging portal, regarding the recent shootings and killings of students in the United States of America, as well as threatening with armed attack and similar terrorist activities in the area of the Sarajevo Canton.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with partner institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, is continuing an intensive investigation into this case.
