 Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against:

INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS SMUGGLING

- EMAL AMIRI, born in 2001 in Lagman, Afghanistan, a citizen of Afghanistan, currently in custody and

- MATIULLAH DAWLATZAI, born in 1998 in Peshwar, Pakistan, a citizen of Afghanistan, currently in custody.

 

The accused are charged with having acted with the intention of illegally acquiring property gain, as members of an organized group with persons known to them from Afghanistan and the Republic of Serbia, and having enabled 17 migrants - citizens of Afghanistan, India and the Republic of Turkey, including minors, to enter Bosnia and Herzegovina illegally from Serbia.

 

The accused have, for an agreed financial compensation, on 4 November this year smuggled the above mentioned migrants, in three groups, across the Drina River to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, although they knew that they were illegal migrants who could not swim, thus endangering their lives, health and safety by placing them in a boat in a much larger number than allowed, and with the intention of their further transport to a location known to them on the territory of BiH. They were prevented in their actions by the BiH Border Police.

 

The accused are charged with the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189 (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
