MORTAL REMAINS FOUND DURING EXHUMATION IN ROGATICA

An exhumation is being carried out at the Pribošijevići - Rogatica site, in accordance with the instructions issued by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and pursuant to an order issued by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The exhumation is being coordinated by an Investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes, under the supervision of the Prosecutor in charge of the case.

At the aforementioned exhumation site, mortal remains of human origin have been found, along with victims’ personal effects.

The mortal remains will be sent for further forensic processing and identification of the victims via the DNA analysis.

The discovery of this site with mortal remains is the result of a joint and coordinated work of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and SIPA. Representatives of the Missing Persons’ Institute (MPI) of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina have also participated in the exhumation process.
