INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST GERMAN NATIONAL FOR SMUGGLING OF PERSONS

 

Defendant Rassl Beatrix (1962) is charged with attempting to smuggle across the border two illegal migrants, Bangladeshi citizens, hidden in a concealed place of her car.

 

A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an indictment against:

 

Rassl Beatrix, born 1962 in Badgrunbach, FR Germany, citizen of FR Germany.

 

The accused is charged that on 7 October 2019, in the area of Bužim municipality, she, with an intent to acquire unlawful property gain, placed in her vehicle two illegal migrants - citizens of Bangladesh who illegally entered and stayed in BiH, and did not meet the conditions for a lawful crossing of the state border.

 

With an intention to transport illegal migrants across the state border, the defendant headed to the Izačić border crossing point where the illegal migrants were detected and found during a thorough inspection of the vehicle she operated.

 

The defendant is charged that she, with an intention to acquire unlawful property gain, attempted to transport across the state border the illegal migrants who did not meet the conditions to cross it legally, whereby she committed the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons in violation of Article 189 (1) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

 

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH, which confirmed it.
