CHIEF PROSECUTOR GORDANA TADIĆ AND BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE DELEGATION TAKE PART IN REGIONAL WAR CRIMES CONFERENCE IN BELGRADE

The Regional Conference of Prosecutors deals with cooperation, criteria and standards in the prosecution of war crimes. Chief Prosecutor of the International Resident Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals Serge Brammertz also takes part in the conference.

CHIEF PROSECUTOR GORDANA TADIĆ AND BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE DELEGATION TAKE PART IN REGIONAL WAR CRIMES CONFERENCE IN BELGRADE

The central topics of the Regional Prosecutor’s Conference deal with mutual co-operation between prosecutors in the region, as well as the co-operation of respective Prosecutor’s Offices with the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals.

The conference also covers topics related to the cooperation of the Prosecutor’s Offices in the region on the basis of international legal assistance, as well as the Protocol on cooperation, criteria and standards for the prosecution of war crimes perpetrators, strengthening of regional cooperation in the prosecution of war crimes and searches for missing persons.

The Chief Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, Gordana Tadić, will be a moderator in the conference within the topic “Investigation and criminal prosecution of conflict-related sexual violence as international crimes”.

Representatives of the Federation Prosecutor’s Office, Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Una-Sana Canton and the Brčko District Prosecutor’s Office are also taking part in the conference.

The Deputy Chief of State Prosecutor of Croatia, Jasmina Dolmagić, and Special Prosecutor for War Crimes from Montenegro, Lidija Vukčević, also take part in the conference.

The Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Serbia, HE Denis Keefe, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to Serbia, HE Carlo Lo Cascio and the UNDP Serbia Resident Representative, Francine Pickup, addressed the participants of the conference.

The organiser of the Regional War Crimes Prosecutors Conference in Belgrade is the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Serbia and Chief Prosecutor Snežana Stanojković and it is also attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), OSCE and other international organisations.
