PRESS RELEASE

PRESS RELEASE

Remand in custody in the case of Fahrudin Radončić is the proof of existence of the rule of law and the message that nobody is above the law.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH acts by observing the highest legal standards and in accordance with the law.

We expect the trial in this case to commence, so that the course of the proceedings could show the citizens and the public the quality and quantity of evidence that the prosecution will use to prove the guilt of the accused in this case.

The Prosecutor’s Office considers the media attacks and constructions, that come from the newspaper Dnevni Avaz, which is under the direct influence of the accused in this case, absolutely inappropriate.

The fact that the Prosecutor’s Office will summon 27 witnesses and four expert witnesses in this case as well as submit more than 160 pieces of material evidence, clearly indicates that the media constructions of the said paper on a "rigged" or "political" process are completely unsubstantiated.

We believe that such media pressures and attacks on the judiciary are inappropriate and unacceptable, and to the citizens of our country we say that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will not yield to any pressures.

We are sincerely pleased to see that the citizens and the public in our country have recognized the efforts of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH to fight corruption and illegality, in which there will not be any untouchable and protected political persons.

The accused persons in this case will be prosecuted the same as any other accused person, regardless of the political position, financial status or any other circumstances because all citizens are equal before the law.
