In addition to the remains some other items were found i.e. Italian money from that time, certain items for personal use in the German language, German watches and money, therefore it is highly likely that the persons were German and Italian citizens.

Among the remains are those of a jaw bone with significant dental interventions (gold teeth, etc.), which could greatly facilitate the identification of these persons.

Following the exhumation the remains were transferred to the identification center for forensic and DNA analysis. The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will inform the diplomatic representations of Italy and Germany in the coming days in order to continue the activities on the identification of these persons.
