INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST THREE PERSONS FOR TRANSPORT, TRANSFER AND SALE OF SEVERAL DOZEN KILOGRAMS OF MARIJUANA CANNABIS NARCOTIC DRUG FROM THE TERRITORY OF BIH TO THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA

In the course of the investigation in this case, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has established important international cooperation with the Croatian Office for the Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (USKOK).

Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an Indictment against the following persons:

-         Zdravko Jurković aka Ganfa, born on 16 March 1958 in Crnići, in the Municipality of Stolac, where he also resides, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, with prior convictions,

-         Mladenka Ostojić, born on 17 July 1968 in Čapljina, residing at bb Šurmanci Street, in the Municipality of Čapljina, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia,

-         Šime Šljivić, born on 02 October 1979 in Kakanj, residing in the Municipality of Stolac, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia, with prior convictions

INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST THREE PERSONS FOR TRANSPORT, TRANSFER AND SALE OF SEVERAL DOZEN KILOGRAMS OF MARIJUANA CANNABIS NARCOTIC DRUG FROM THE TERRITORY OF BIH TO THE TERRITORY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA

The accused Zdravko Jurković aka Ganfa is charged with organizing and directing a group for organized crime from June of 2014 to November of 2014, with the aim of acquiring unlawful material gain, whereas other aforementioned accused persons were members of that group, for the purpose of illicit international transport, transfer and sale of the Cannabis narcotic drug from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the territory of the Republic of Croatia.

Zdravko Jurković is charged with purchasing a larger quantity of the Cannabis narcotic drug from persons known to him, and then taking over that drug in the territory of the Municipality of Čapljina, together with Šime Šljivić, and storing the same drug in the house of the accused Mladenka Ostojić in Šurmanci, in the Municipality of Ćapljina. Then they continuously conducted international transfer and transport of at least 74 kilograms of that narcotic drug to the territory of the Republic of Croatia and its sale there; 64 kilograms of that drug were confiscated in synchronized actions of police agencies of the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The aforementioned narcotic drug was smuggled in different quantities, mostly in quantities between 5 and 15 kilograms, and it was sold to persons known to them for amounts of money which varied between EUR 6900 and EUR 15000.

The accused Zdravko Jurković is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Organized Crime, as referred to in Article 250, Paragraph 3, in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 195, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereas the accused Mladenka Ostojić and Šime Šljivić are charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Organized Crime, as referred to in Article 250, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Narcotic Drugs, as referred to in Article 195, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
