4 PERSONS SUSPECTED OF WAR CRIMES AGAINST CIVILIANS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

Four persons suspected of having committed war crimes in 1992 were deprived of liberty in Odžak area.

4 PERSONS SUSPECTED OF WAR CRIMES AGAINST CIVILIANS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY

Acting on the orders of the Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, SIPA officers arrested the following persons in the area of Odžak:

-        Marijan Brnjić, born on July 15, 1966 in Odžak,

-        Ilija Glavaš, born on May 1, 1968 in Odžak,

-        Pavo Glavaš, born on December 7, 1961 in Odžak,

-        Martin Barukčić, born on November 12, 1965 in Odžak.

These persons are under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and are suspected of committing the criminal offense of War Crimes against Civilians under Article 173 of the CC BiH.

The suspects are charged with having committed the criminal offense of War Crimes, as members of the 102nd Brigade of the HVO /Croatian Defense Council/ Odžak in the period from June to August 1992 in the area of Odžak.

They are suspected of raping several victims i.e. ethnic Serb females in the area of Odžak.

The suspects were handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH who will question them within the legal deadline and then decide on a motion for remand in custody.
