On Thursday, 24 October 2013, at the sites of Dvorište and Podvitez- Kašani, Pale Municipality, an exhumation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
At the first site, incomplete mortal remains of one person with clothes were found, and a fragment of a body of one more person was found at the other site.
After finding these mortal remains, the mortal remains of the victim from the first site were transported to the Public Utilities Enterprise of the City Cemetery in Visoko, and the mortal remains of the victim from the second site was taken to the ossuary of the Sveti Marko Public Utilities Enterprise in Istočno Sarajevo, where forensic, as well as criminal and technical analysis will be performed, the cause of death will be determined and bone samples will be taken for the DNA analysis in order to establish the victims’ identity.
The exhumation process was coordinated in the field by an Investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, whereas officers of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, an expert forensic pathologist and police officers of the Istočno Sarajevo Public Security Station participated in the search for, and exhumation of mortal remains.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with institutions involved in the process of tracing missing persons in BiH, continues its activities in the process of conducting exhumations and tracing missing persons in all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
