An exhumation was carried out at the location of Zlatište in Istočni Stari Grad Municipality under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. The remains of one person were unearthed at this location.
The recovered remains shall be transported to the ossuary of PUC „Sveti Marko“, East Sarajevo for forensic processing i.e. determination of the cause of death and collection of bone samples for DNA analysis and identification.
The exhumation process was coordinated by a Legal Officer of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor specializing in forensic medicine, workers and machinery of PUC „Sveti Marko“ East Sarajevo, as well as representatives of East Sarajevo PS.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying the missing, continues its activities on exhumations and in the process of tracing the missing in all parts of BiH.
