An exhumation was carried out at the location of Gornja Barica, on July 3, 2013 under the supervision of an Investigator of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH. Fragmented skeletal remains were unearthed but at this point it is not clear whether the remains belong to one or several persons.
The recovered remains shall be transported to Town cemetery Banja Luka for post mortem examination, forensic processing and identification.
The exhumation was attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a forensic pathologist and police officers form Brod PS and PSC Doboj.
The exhumation process was supervised by an investigator of the Prosecutor's Office who acted on instructions of the prosecutor and coordinated the efforts of police, forensics and other authorized persons participating in the exhumation process.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other institutions involved in the process of tracing and identifying the missing, continues its activities in the process of tracing and exhuming the missing in all parts of BiH.
