MOTION FOR CUSTODY FILED FOR NINE PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN THE "PATRIOT" OPERATION

Following the questioning of the suspects the Prosecutor's Office shall file a motion for custody for a total of 9 people deprived of liberty in yesterday's operations.

Remand in custody for a period of 30 days will be requested for the following 5 persons deprived of liberty within the "Patriot" and "Pravda" operations:

-        Živko Budimir,

-        Petar Barišić,

-        Saud Kulosman,

-        Hidajet Halilović,

-        Ivan Jurčević.

These individuals are suspected of organized crime, abuse of office or authority, illegal mediation and giving and accepting bribes, gifts or other forms of benefits.

Remand in custody shall be requested on grounds set out in Article 132, Subparagraphs a), b) and d) of the CPC BiH, i.e. the risk of flight, risk of obstructing the investigation and influencing witnesses or accomplices, and the general circumstances of the criminal offense which caused public concern in BiH.

Remand in custody shall be requested for four suspects within the "Memory" operation, suspected of organized crime in conjunction with Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs.

The operations that were carried out by instruction of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH are the biggest of its kind in terms of detection of corruption offenses among the highest officials in the post-Dayton BiH.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, together with its partner law enforcement agencies, continues its activities aiming to proceed with indictments.
