Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued an indictment against two persons charging them with illicit international trafficking in narcotic drugs.
Indictments were issued against the following persons:
- A.M. (1965) from Sarajevo, BiH citizen and
- B.K. (1989) from Sarajevo, BiH citizen.
The accused are charged to have, during an unspecified period, became members of an organized criminal group engaged in committing criminal offenses related to illicit international sale, transfer, interceding and delivery of narcotic drugs, and to have, following a prior arrangement with the members of the organized criminal group known to them, participated in the international trafficking of narcotics.
The indictment alleges that a person known to them has purchased, on the territory of the Republic of Germany, 2 kg of psychotropic substance pyrovalerone (previously unknown drug on the market of Bosnia and Herzegovina - the chemical properties and price of which is similar to cocaine), the trafficking of which is forbidden in BiH, and then hired the accused persons A.M. and B.K. to intercede and collect the drugs in BiH.
The aforementioned individual from Germany has, on two occasions i.e. on July 27, 2012 and August 6. 2012, sent packages to BiH via airmail and special delivery, which contained a wrapped amount of approximately one kilogram of psychotropic substances. In one case it was done via regular line from Munich to Sarajevo and in the other case from Dubai to Sarajevo.
Trafficking in narcotic drugs was prevented by joint operation of several police agencies and in cooperation between judicial and police agencies of several countries.
The accused are charged with membership of an organized group of people dealing with illicit international purchase, sale, possession, transportation and transfer of substances or preparations that are declared narcotic drugs by regulation, thereby committing the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250, Paragraph 1 in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
