CUSTODY MOTION FILED FOR A PERSON SUSPECTED OF SMUGGLING LARGER QUANTITY OF NARCOTIC DRUGS

Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed a motion to the Court of BiH to remand a person suspected of smuggling large quantities of narcotic drugs into custody.

The suspect M. A. (1965) from Sarajevo was deprived of liberty yesterday morning by the authorized officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA.

Remand in custody was requested pursuant to grounds stipulated in Article 132, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs a) b) and c) of the CPC BiH i.e. due to risk that the suspect could flee, and due to the fact that, if released, the suspect might repeat the crime, influence witnesses or accomplices and interfere with the investigation.

The aforementioned suspect is under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and is suspected of the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250, Paragraph 4 of the CC BiH in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195, Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with law enforcement agencies, continues with intense activities in this case.

Custody motion was submitted to the Court of BiH.
