PERSON ACCUSED OF WAR CRIMES IN THE AREA OF VLASENICA AND MILIĆI CONCLUDED PLEA AGREEMENT
12.11.2021. 12:54VIŠKOVIĆ Goran aka "Vjetar" (1954), accused of committing the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH directed against the non-Serb civilian population in the municipalities of Vlasenica and Milići, pleaded guilty, in presence of his attorney, to war crimes committed from April 1992 to end of 1993.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, ta sentence of imprisonment ranging from 5 (five) to 8 (eight) years was proposed for the accused.
Pursuant to the plea agreement, the accused fully admitted his participation in the committed crime, and waived his right to a trial and the right to appeal the judgement handed down to him by the Court of BiH on the basis of the agreement.Prior to concluding the agreement, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH discussed the matter with representatives of the victims, injured parties, their families and relatives, who pointed out that they wanted the accused to be held accountable for the crimes committed and gave their consent to conclusion of this agreement.
After deliberation, the Court of BiH accepted the agreement and sentenced the accused to 8 years of imprisonment, a sentence which was joined with the existing previous sentence that the accused is serving thus the Court imposed a single sentence of 20 years in prison.
