MEETING ON IMPORTANT ISSUES OF REGIONAL COOPERATION BETWEEN THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA AND THE WAR CRIMES PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA
13.10.2021. 16:59On 15 October 2021, a meeting will be held in Belgrade between the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH Gordana Tadić with her associates and the Prosecutor for War Crimes of Serbia Snežana Stanojković with her associates regarding regional cooperation and exchange of information on inaccessible persons and other relevant issues.
These topics were raised at a previous bilateral meeting held as part of a regional conference organised by the UNDP. The meeting discussed, among other things, the cases of Mujanović, Osmanović, Vranj and others, and the need to involve all relevant institutions in both countries in resolving such cases.
Considering the information that the War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Serbia filed an indictment Ref. No. KTO-5/21 against the suspect Edin Vranj for the criminal offence of War Crimes against Prisoners of War under Article 144 of the FRY Criminal Code, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the Chief Prosecutor and the Special Department for War Crimes will be informed about the details and reasons for it, given that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an order not to conduct an investigation against the aforementioned person.
In order to continue cooperation and consider all the facts reached by both Prosecutor’s Offices, the War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Serbia will submit a motion to the Higher Court in Belgrade - War Crimes Section to transfer the prosecution in this case to the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This is the result of the joint work of the Prosecutors’ Offices and intensive cooperation in this and all other cases will continue.
