The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, Gordana Tadić, chaired the meeting of the Task Force, which was held at the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in Sarajevo.

About twenty representatives of prosecutor’s offices, police, security agencies and law enforcement institutions from the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, both Entities and the Brčko District of BiH actively participate in the work of the Task Force.

The meeting discussed joint activities in prosecuting criminal offences of human trafficking, smuggling of illegal migrants and other criminal offences in this area. Following the presentation of the results of all institutions in the past, it was concluded that there are positive developments in prosecuting this type of criminal offences.

These results are the outcome of the work of members of the Task Force and the specialised Network of Prosecutors and Investigators for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, as well as of the coordination teams formed at the Entity and local levels.

Also, significant joint efforts are being made to identify the elements of the criminal offences of human trafficking within the criminal offences of smuggling of persons, especially within the migrant population located in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The members of the Task Force thanked the representatives of the international community who, through trainings of prosecutors, investigators and judges, and in other ways, support the strengthening of the rule of law in this area.
