DEFENDANT ARMEN DŽELKO (1990) ENTERS INTO PLEA AGREEMENT ADMITTING HIS GUILT
15.07.2020. 09:39The accused Armen Dželko, born in 1990 in Sarajevo, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has fully admitted his guilt in the presence of his lawyer, for the commission of the criminal offence charged by the Indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused has plead guilty for the departure to the territory of Syria, where he joined the paramilitary formations that operated within the structures of the so-called ‘ISIL’, which has been designated a terrorist organization by the Decision of the United Nations Security Council. The accused has admitted his guilt for the criminal offence of Organizing a Terrorist Group, as referred to in Article 202d, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all in conjunction with the criminal offence of Terrorism, as referred to in Article 201 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Pursuant to the Plea Agreement, the sentence of imprisonment for a term of three (3) years and six (6) months has been proposed for this accused person.
By virtue of signing this Plea Agreement, the accused has waived his right to a trial and the right to appeal the judgment pronounced against him by the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The aforementioned Plea Agreement has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has deliberated on it and made the decision to accept the Plea Agreement, sentence the accused and extend his custody until the accused has been committed to serve his prison sentence.
